out of hiding: a request for out west

hi friends! these last few weeks (um...months...) of the year have been quite the doozy, but with graduation just around the corner, i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! i've come out from blogging hibernation to request a slight favor. remember last year, when we headed up the new england coast? remember how you gave me awesome tips and ideas? if it weren't for lovely readers, we wouldn't have known about the rutger's university grease trucks, or cook's lobster house, or a myriad of other little adventures we found ourselves enjoying.

in a little bit, we're headed out west. for a little end-of-the-year-let's-celebrate-no-more-school-EVER-or-at-least-for-now-and-hey!-it's-almost-christmas road trip.

we'll be in phoenix, scottsdale, sedona, the grand canyon, monument valley, zion national park, and las vegas. any tips, ideas or fun little side stops, please comment below! of course, i've made a travel  binder complete with sheet protectors for each activity i've planned so far, but there's always room for a little more fun:)

thank you! and see you in 2013. i promise to be more consistent...i hope.

in the meantime, we are slowly settling into our new digs. pablo has quickly found his resting spot:)

oh, that couch. would totally be my spot too! Have fun out in the wild wild west! I'm no help with that area, but if you ever head NW, then I'm your girl! xoxo

When you said West I was thinking NW like Bonnie as well. I'm also a wealth of knowledge for all things Oregon if you ever choose to come here :)

You might want to check out: http://www.camelsandchocolate.com/destinations/ -she's a travel blogger and has been to most of those places.
Also, congrats on finishing up your masters. I've got to figure out what I'm going to do and where at in the near future, so I'm impressed that you've already finished.

Yay for you graduating! You'll have a great trip! In Las Vegas, we love to go to Freemont Street--I think it's more fun than the strip! I was in Phoenix last year for the Fiesta Bowl and we just loved walking around in the warm sun. Oh--and eating Mexican food! :) Have a blast!

Look up ghost towns! We have seen some amazing ones in our travels and they are by far one of my favorite stops no matter where we stop out west.

Oh, Courtney!

I've missed YOU. But you have not been far from my mind at all. I've never been to any of those places - so my comment won't be particularly helpful - but I just wanted to let you know that, even in your absence, your gentleness has warmed my soul.

Praying for your, Robert and sweet Pablo as you exhale into this transition.

Courtney! I'm glad all is well.

It's too bad you aren't coming to California, but I'll forgive you. ;) I am afraid I can't really help with those places. However, I am not sure if you and/or your husband are fans of westerns, but if you are then you should go to Tucson. Specifically, Old Tucson studios. They filmed soooo many John Wayne movies out there and even The Three Amigos. Definitely worth a stop. :)

Have a great trip!

How fun that you are going out west- we are visiting Phoenix soon too! Hard to think of fun "tourist" things to do since we are from there but I will rack my brain and come back if I think of anything! I did see that someone suggested Tucson- if you end up going that route go to Eegees for lunch and order the Pina Colada! Have fun!
