these three socks have been hanging there for weeks. their matches just up and walked away, i'm convinced.
the shed is kittenless and the sky is cloudless.
muscadine vine out back, flowering and full.
the little trail behind the blueberry bushes. where i stand with mama and robert and pick the little berries all summer long.
goodness, can i just say how excited i am that summer has arrived in north carolina? in our little cottage? everything is green, lush and alive. and i am likewise.
however, as beautiful as nature can be, i am very aware of its destructive power. its ability to destroy. hurt. shatter. and my prayers go out to everyone affected by the awful storms. may you have rainbows soon.

Courtney, i think my fave is with the three socks. that is priceless - our miss matches are piled atop the dresser, a much less distinguished spot ; )
we've been watching the wrath those storms have been causing and are praying too. the destruction is very hard to see, i can't imagine what it's like to leave near and know people who have suffered through it. i'll be linking my fingers together for you, that nothing comes close by to hurt the world you are in. many blessings. xo ♥
Your sock picture is cute! At our house, the socks never leave the clean clothes basket...till my husband needs his whites. Unfortunately, that is one flaw I do have...putting away the whites...and these aren't just ones with no mates!
I really like your comment about rainbows. You put it so well.
Hope you have a great summer day!! :o)
Aw, I love that moment when you can visually tell that summer has arrived. These photos definitely evoke summer quietude to me.
Sharing in your prayers to all who are affected.
Yay for Summer out there! Here it's still Rainy Spring - but I do love Spring the temperatures are so bearable! :)
I really love your little cottage. I want to live in one just like yours someday!
Ah, I LOVE summer! and I love these photos! What a perfect place to have a picnic!
oh i remember summers out east. i don't miss the humidity one bit, but i do miss thunderstorms and lightening bugs! those are two things we sadly don't have in california. sigh... will you please enjoy them a little extra for me this summer?
I hope the sun keeps shining for you...it is rainy and gloomy here. I'm looking out for rainbows...for everyone.
XO,
Jane
May I please trade lives with you for a couple of weeks? Something so whimsical about clothes lines, blackberry-picking and cottages! I love it.
I have some socks that have been missing their partners for quite some time....maybe we have each others other half :)
Grrr...Storms have been so bad.. Feel so horrible for the people who have been affected....
On a lighter note..I agree with Lynncakes up above(waves)...The sock picture is classic... Actually all of your pictures are fantastic...
Oh! And thanks for following back!

It's gorgeous. We haven't had nearly enough summer in San Diego yet. And those storms...the thing nature teaches you is that it has the power to both bless and hurt. It's a good reminder of who we are too. Let's hope for lots more rainbows and blessings soon.
You make me wish I could be there.
These images are just so relaxing :) Just looking at it makes me feel relaxed.
