working from home

weekends are for savoring. for sleeping in. eating a little bit more naughty, skipping the salads. they are for late night movies, mid-afternoon yoga breaks, and hours of conversation around a kitchen island.

working full-time, i look forward to the weekends, starting on monday. i usually try to plan little trips on those two precious days. little day adventures that have us home by suppertime. a reprieve. an escape. this weekend, however, flew by much like my the rest of my week. behind a computer, working.

and it made me sad to think that another week will go by before i could rest. it really hit me on saturday night, our usual date night. there were no high heels. no curled hair. no lipstick.

instead, i spent the greater portion of the day and evening in sweatpants, hair in a bun, typing. it's a good thing i have a window in my home office. the gorgeous, natural light that streamed in through the blinds was a blessing.

i went to bed discouraged, sad.

and woke up to this:
and all of a sudden, working from home didn't seem so bad.

Aww...that is just the sweetest! Have you seen Mary Joy's blog... Seeds of Encouragement Sewn with Grace? She's challenging her bloggy friends to write love notes to their husbands this week. Come join in!

Happy Monday! Enjoy the view from your window. :o)

I can defiantly relate to many aspects of this post. I start looking forward to the weekend on Sunday night! When I am so frustrated by getting up at 5:30 on Saturday morning (meant for sleeping in) to go to work, I try to make Saturday night at home special. Usually we do a little picnic in the living room and it kind of takes the sting away. Here's to a FAST week. :)

I work every other weekend (and this past weekend was my work weekend). my husband works m-f and of course is off every weekend and so the weekends I'm off I really savor. We try to make them lovely and relaxing.

Aaaaw, that is just so sweet and thoughtful. Little things like that make it all worthwhile, don't they. Sorry you had to work though. Let's hope you can have a special weekend at the end of this week to make up for it.

Oh that's so sweet! My hubby and I used to leave "SHMILY" (see how much I love you) notes everywhere. I guess after 11 years of marriage we take those sweet notes for granted. I miss them...he probably does too.

Keep those sweet notes...and do them for him, too!

I hardly ever even see the light of weekends anymore. Nor the feeling of sleeping past 6:30 these days (refer to post today...). But what a sweet wonderful husband you have. Got to love post its. I hope your Monday is a little bit better darling.
